A gift card is what prompted this trip. I have never been to one and was looking forward to trying one for the first time.

I have not been this disappointed in a restaurant in a long time.

Service/environment: very friendly attentive staff, had timely service. Our order was taken immediately on arrival and was served a warm meal in 10 mins or so. Our 18 month was given a high chair too. The servers were their saving grace.
    5/5

Food: they need to seriously consider rehiring their chef. All their very standard meals were ruined. Bread stick was so greasy with no garlic at all, it basically just fried oily bread, the steak was over done and actually charred on the surface when we had asked for medium, 3 cheese penne pasta barely had cheese and the chicken was burnt. My daughters cheese pizza from children's menu was also stale. We basically half of everything.
    0/5

Location: it's conveniently located on a main highway so accessibility is easy.

Our family just dine there and the waiter forgot one of our orders. We ended up waiting for food another 30 minute, close to hour and a half total. The waiter apologized when he brought the missing dish but ,in the end, it was very spicy and our daughter wasn't able to eat it. The manager who was checking in on all  guests  came to our table and we told her what happened. She said that she would check what happened but never came back. In the end we also found out that the waiter also forgot to bring a shake that was ordered.
I think Apple Bees should train their staff and management better, a specially on the busy Sunday evening!
    Very disappointed!

I was hungry after shopping and seeking a meal with my hubby. I was totally disappointed in this Applebee's in Kenosha. Ordered the 2 for $29 originally we both wanted ribs. After a 20 minute wait we were informed they were out of ribs after reordering the lady dropped the tortilla chips on the table that go with the spinach artichoke dip (which appeared to be microwaved and served Luke warm and never came back to clean them up. The chicken and shrimp I ordered were so so. My hubby did enjoy his burger. The best thing about this place was Liz the greeter.

    GOING BACKWARDS

I unfortunately have to re-review this location. I noticed my 5 star review was from over 7 years ago and I can't idly stand by without sharing my most recent experience.

First let me say I understand why all of your Applebee's locations are going out of business.

We were seated promptly but it took forever for our waiter to even come over. He was too busy with a large party of seven seated in front of us. At one point I thought I just needed another waiter because he's going to ignore us. Apparently multi tasking might not be his thing.

I will say that our waiter was nice and apologized for the delay but it didn't speed up the process of our lunch. I also want to say that you can only apologize so much before the whole moment becomes a sad lunch experience. At some point you had to stop apologizing and just do it the right way.

We actually had to use the call button at the table to signal the waiter. We decided to press it and an actually a red blinking light started flashing at our table. I will say that this flashing light worked and our waiter came right over.

My beer got poured then I watched it sit for over 10 minutes on the bar rail. My little girl told me that I should just walk over and get it. In fact, I had to inform the waiter that my beer had been sitting there. He said, Oh! Let me go grab it now!" I told him I was going to need a freshly poured beer because I wanted it cold and not warm. I also witnessed other waitresses leaning over my beer to grab items behind the bar. This is just unacceptable and probably a health code violation.

I had asked for my fries to be crispy and with no salt. I've made this request in the past and it has always been honored but the waiter here immediately informed me that it might not happen. Honestly it's never been an issue at other Applebee's locations. When my food was delivered I literally had had like 10 french fries. The waiter apologized and said the chef's tried and that's all they could give me. The bad part is that the chef's punished me for the special order. The plate was actually embarrassing to look at. I asked the waiter if they were running bottomless fries and he said no. So I said that really looks pathetic and I am going to actually need some french fries.  He offered to bring me some more fries. It's a $10 burger and it's a rip off especially with being shorted fries because of my special request.

The whole lunch was starting to snowball downhill. It didn't help that the table across from us had a screaming toddler. The Mom told her toddler to go ahead and scream all he wants because she didn't care. Obviously she didn't care about anyone in the restaurant. It's sad and she's defiantly not going to be Mother of the Year. Glad she inflicted her demon child's screams on everyone else in the whole restaurant.

When my bill arrived they tried to punish me and had charged me for two beers. Remember I had them pour  me a new beer. The manager took off $4 thinking I wouldn't catch it but I did. I really don't enjoy games but it seems like they play them here. When the manager doesn't void out or return the whole amount it's not a mistake it's the manager trying to be an ass.

Our waiter kept apologizing. I did tell him thank you but I don't go out to eat to feel neglected. I want to feel good and treated a bit.  Isn't that why we all go out to eat? I could just stay home and make a better meal for the $23 I spent here. After eating here I truly understand why Applebee's is closing locations and probably going to go out of business sooner then later.

I did tip our waiter but my little girl said that I shouldn't give him anything. I explained to her that you have to give them money because they don't get paid a lot. I also informed her that he really didn't care about us because his seven top was probably a guarantee 18% tip and he was probably going to make $30 on that table. Our two top wasn't that important to him.

So be warned it's Applebee's and it's going to be a mediocre experience. The staff doesn't get it along with the manager. I'm actually surprised the manager didn't even come over to say hello or apologize. Last time we ate here the manager was very attentive but that was seven years ago and times have changed.

Our first time at this location will be our last. It was only 2:30pm and they were out of ribs! So, I ordered the riblets which were very disappointing.  My husband's burger was ok. $7 just for 2 lemonades! Really! Wait staff was pleasant but like the Slowskys which was said with only a handful of customers. The restaurant could have used a good cleaning too. The only reason we ended up at applebees was because Texas Roadhouse wasn't open yet. Sadly we used to love eating at Applebees. I guess this is why they are closing them.
